Get Started Dyeing Wool

Spinners, Weavers, Knitters and Feltmakers! Are you tired of not finding yarns and fibers in the colors that you want? This two day workshop will introduce you to dyeing wool and other animal fibers using the WashFast Acid Dyes. You will explore coloring mixing and immersion dyeing by creating a 21 step color wheel. Then you will learn how to do gradation dyeing, as well as painting on yarn and fibers. There will be time for an individual project of your choice on the second day.

Instructor Bio:

Vicki Jensen is the Classroom Coordinator and Lab Manager for PRO™ Chemical & Dye. She has an MFA in Fibers from Arizona State University and completed a residency at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in 1996. Her teaching experience includes weaving, spinning, and quilting guilds around the United States. Her art quilts, woven ikat textiles, felt, and indigo-dyed shibori have been in many juried and invitational exhibitions and can be found in private collections in the United States and Japan.
