From Dye to Design: Building Layers with Color, Screens & Stencils

This workshop will teach you the basics of dyeing and printing with screens & stencils. On the first day, we'll construct our screens, print some preliminary designs and dye our foundation fabric. On the second day, we will develop stencils and compose our prints. We will use thickened dye, fabric paint, Procion dyes and Color Magnet.

Instructor Bio:

Gilbert Muniz has been designing and making wearable art and clothing for over 20 years. I am a former designer for the Bernina Fashion Show designer and have competed at several wearable art competitions around the US. I am a pattern making instructor at Houston Community College, and a semi-regular instructor with the International Quilt festival in my hometown of Houston, TX. My published patterns and instructions can be found in SewStylish magazine and Threads Magazine.
