This Honeywell (North) 5500 Series half mask respirator is made from an extremely soft non-allergenic elastomer. Wide contoured sealing area provides a great fit. Low dead air space improves worker comfort by limiting re-breathing of exhaled air. This unit has an adjustable head and neck strap and comes with Defender™ multi-purpose gas/vapor cartridges, these are compatible with North 5000, 7000 and RU Series half mask and full facepiece respirators. NIOSH approved for protection against organic vapors, ammonia, methylamine, formaldehyde and acid gases (chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide [escape], hydrogen fluoride and chlorine dioxide). For added protection they come with filters, which are held in place by the retainer caps that snap on the dual duty cartridge. It is perfect when you mix large amounts of powders or work with discharge agents like bleach and Thiox. Always store your respirator in the storage bag when not in use, to avoid contamination. Available in Small & Medium sizes.
Please note: When re-ordering replacement cartridges, save the plastic caps that hold the filter in place. They can be washed and reused. The replacement filters do not come with new caps.
